OUR WORK

Built in the real world.

We want our work to show how technology improves an actual business—not just how a homepage looks in a portfolio.

Z.H. RentalsCASE STUDY #001ZH Rentals

ZH RENTALS

A rental business needs more than a website.

Reservations connect to vehicles. Customers need documents. Payments need records. Staff need operational visibility. Maintenance and inspections matter too.

ZH Rentals became ZH Digital’s first major development laboratory: a live business environment where those pieces could be built, tested and improved together.

LIVE PROOF

Not a mockup. A real business environment.

ZH Rentals is live and continues to be the place where ZH Digital proves connected-business ideas against day-to-day operational needs.

01

Customer-facing website

A real public experience for travellers researching and booking vehicles.

02

Booking & records

Reservation information connects to customers, vehicles and operational follow-up.

03

Documents & payments

Invoices, receipts, contracts and payment status form part of the operating record.

04

Fleet & administration

Operational tools help keep vehicles, availability and staff actions visible.

WHAT THE SYSTEM CONNECTS

One business. Multiple moving parts.

01

Reservations

Availability, booking details and customer-facing workflows.

02

Customers

Central records, booking history and relevant documents.

03

Documents

Invoices, receipts, rental contracts and electronic signing workflows.

04

Payments

Payment status, references and operational records without unnecessarily storing card details.

05

Fleet

Vehicle availability, operational status and maintenance-related workflows.

06

Administration

Staff access, dashboards, reporting and the information needed to run the operation.

EXPLORE THE SYSTEM

See how the pieces connect.

01

Less re-keying.

Information captured in the customer journey can become useful operational data instead of being copied manually from one place to another.

THE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL

From disconnected tasks to a connected operation.

This is not a claim that every manual step disappears. It is the design goal: capture information once, keep records connected and put human attention where it adds value.

BEFORE

Information scattered across tasks

  • Repeated data entry
  • Separate booking and document steps
  • More manual follow-up
  • Harder operational overview
DIRECTION

Connected workflows and records

  • Data reused across the process
  • Documents linked to transactions
  • Automation where it makes sense
  • Clearer admin visibility

WHAT THIS TAUGHT US

Build around the operation, then identify what can be reused.

ZH Rentals is both a real business system and ZH Digital's first development laboratory.

01

Start with workflow

Vehicle rental is not one screen. Booking, customers, payments, documents, fleet status and staff actions are connected.

02

Separate engine from configuration

Reusable booking, authentication and document components should stay separate from ZH Rentals-specific rates, branding and rules.

03

Design for operations

The customer-facing experience matters, but the system also has to make daily work clearer for the people running the business.

04

Validate before productising

One strong implementation does not automatically prove a universal rental platform. Other operators will teach us what is genuinely reusable.

05

Protect business data

The business keeps control of its customers and operating data while ZH Digital separately protects reusable platform technology.

06

Improve in the real world

Real usage exposes edge cases and operational needs that a portfolio-only mockup never will.

WHY IT MATTERS

The point isn’t more software.

The point is less duplication, clearer information and a better customer and staff experience.

“So we started connecting the pieces.”
